Astuce14 - The Hired and The Wired

The 3rd Annual HR Conference, ASTUCE, Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development (SCMHRD) took place on February 1st and 2nd, 2014. Pune, February 02, 2014: The Hr Forum of Symbiosis Center for Management and Human Resources Development Pune conducted ASTUCE’14, The 3rd annual HR conference on the theme ‘The Hired and the Wired: Transforming HRM through Technology’ on the 1st and 2nd of February 2014 in association with Café Hollywood Pizza and 360 Adventure Hub. The 2-day event was an insightful knowledge transfer session between industry stalwarts from the HR domain and the bright young students of SCMHRD.

The conference weekend saw eminent dignitaries such as –

1. Mr. Anil Kumar, VP & Head-HR, Reliance Retail Ltd., Mumbai;

2. Mr. Rajiv Khurana, CEO & Founder, The Personnel Lab, Management Consultants;

3. Mr. Sudhansu Sekhar Misra, Associate Director-HR. IBM, Pune;

1. The above mentioned gentlemen along with Prof. Radhika Nadhkarny and Moderator Prof.Philip Coelho, were a part of the flagship panel discussion of ASTCUE’14 : ‘With advent of technology, is HR losing its human touch?’

4. Mr. Deodutta Kurane, Director-HR, Yes Bank, Mumbai; Topic- ‘Use of HRIS in Yes Bank and technology practices in HRM.’

5. Mr. Siddhesh Bhobe - CEO, eMee; CTO, Klisma; Business Head, Persistent, Pune; Topic- ‘The emerging trend of Gamification in HR’

6. Mr.  Arun Sehgal - Executive VP, GSK-CH; Topic – ‘The influence of technology on different areas of HR’

7. Mr. Jaiprakash Hasrajani, Co-Founder & CEO, ValeurHR /Taaleem India, Delhi; Topic-‘ Incorporating social media into an organization’

Apart from the intense exchange of ideas and opinions, the conference also saw various events like:

1. ArchitecHR- the Case Study Challenge partnered by Human Capital Magazine, where participants had to come up with innovative solutions to the social media dilemma most organizations face in today’s corporate environment.

1. Mind Palace – The definitive HR quiz sponsored by Xed Intellect saw participation by students across top B schools of the nation.

1. Posterartti The CultHR-ed Poster Making competition, sponsored by The Souled Store, had participants from across Indian management institutes send in their best posters based on the theme HR and Technology.

1. Symbiana Jones and the Mystery of the Missing HR, sponsored by Spykar, saw the flagship treasure hunt of SCMHRD come back with a new avatar, making use of HR know-how to rescue the missing HR manager.

The conference saw participation from over 160 teams across Indian B Schools such as, the 12 IIM’s, XLRI, IMI, GIM, TISS, SIBM-Pune, IMT-G etc.

Hotel Le Meridien and Spykar were other sponsors that helped the conference become an astounding success.

Astuce was the result of 4 months of diligent and rigorous planning and execution by the HR Forum along with timely and crucial inputs being given by the HR faculty of SCMHRD and the Senior HR Forum.   We thank each and every person and organization that was instrumental in making ASTUCE’14 a triumphant success. The HR Forum takes this opportunity to give credit to its tireless and committed volunteers and the S.P.A.M, because of whom ‘The Hired and The Wired’ was such a well-coordinated and visually brilliant event.
