Lean and Six Sigma Awards 2013

Lean and Six sigma Excellence Awards (LSSEA), the flagship program of Six Sigma Club, SCMHRD hosted “Lean and Six sigma Excellence Awards 2013” on 7th and 8th October 2013. The event witnessed more than 75 projects coming in this year for LSSEA 2013. All the projects had undergone a rigorous selection to reach to the final rounds .

The participants had an opportunity to present their project to eminent panelists comprising of Prof. A. K. Chaudhuri, founder of ADAAP Process Solutions Private Ltd, Mr. Ashok Sarkar, P.G.D. in SQC & OR from Indian Statistical Institute, Mr. Subhash Agashe, six sigma master black belt certified by Indian Statistical Institute, Mr. Ajit. V. Patwardhan, Professor, Researcher, Dean and Advisor at prestigious construction management Institute (NICMAR), Mr. Hemant M Tambade, certified in Operations Management from CPIM (Certified in Production & Inventory Management) and CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) awarded by APICS, USA and Mr. Shree Phadnis, Country deployment champion and MBB at SKF in India.

Six sigma was honoured to have Mr.Prashant Shingare as the chief guest who is a seasoned business-minded technocrat with more than 16 years of rich and insightful experience in Research and Technology Management with expertise in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Renewable Energy, Project and Technology Management.

The categories under which the projects were presented this year were Lean, DMAIC Manufacturing, DMAIC Services and Support. This year the event witnessed tremendous leap in its quest for showcasing excellence in quality worldwide by introduction of a new category-Supply Chain and Logistics.  

The Theme for LSSEA 2013 is “Operational Innovation: Productivity, Profitability and beyond..” Innovation is perceived in various forms -product, service, technology. However, there is one form that is silently lurking in the corner waiting for its turn to change the very definition of Innovation-Operational Innovation. Invention and deployment are the new ways of working. Operational innovation is a uniquely powerful means of strengthening a company’s performance and competitive position.

The judges had a difficult choice to make which shows the hard work, dedication and commitment that has gone in each project.
