The CSR cell of SCMHRD, S.H.A.P.A.T.H. (Symbiosis Headstart for Awareness Prevention and against Trafficking of Humans) has been fighting against human trafficking and working persistently for the rehabilitation of the victims.
As one of the many round-the-year initiatives, team S.H.A.P.A.T.H organized its annual event - CSR Conclave 2015, on 3 January 2015 with focus on CSR: Prism of Possibilities.
The CSR Conclave 2015 went even bigger than the last year. Honâ€™ble Anna Hazare ji graced the conclave by being the chief guest. Dr. Rajani Gupte, Vice Chancellor SIU, Dr. Pratima Sheorey, Director, SCMHRD, Ms. Priya Kher, Director, Collective Quest and Ms. Ragini Yadav, Station Director,
All India Radio, Pune inaugrated the event.
The team also donated the funds earned by students during E.A.R.N. (Enable All to Revive & Nurture, S.H.A.P.A.T.H.â€™s flagship event) to the NGO Snehalaya. Girish Kulkarni & Girish Khudanpur from Snehalaya shared some of the commendable work done by by the NGO in the field of human
trafficking, child welfare and women. The Conclave saw speakers from big corporate houses like TATA Motors, Infosys and Mphasis who gave valuable insights about the wide expanse of CSR and its changing view in the corporate world. The conclave also provided a platform to the children of victims of trafficking and sex workers, housed at the NGO Saheli, to showcase their talent. A new initiative taken up for this yearâ€™s conclave was a pan India case study competition â€˜Navodayaâ€™ in association with HelpAge India and VisibleVentures. The competition involved some of the brightest
minds from top B-schools providing sustainable solutions to the problems of the aged.
The conclave was a platform for students to understand an organization's efforts in fostering strong corporate governance and ensuring business sustainability. It was team S.H.AP.A.T.H.â€™s intent to synergize various entities ofsociety so that each of it can work for the common cause of making this world a better place. â€‹
