Symbiosis Centre for Management And Human Resource Development (SCMHRD) was established in 1993, as a part of the Symbiosis family. Over the past 18 years, the institute has created leaders and entrepreneurs with a vision of becoming a centre of excellence for global leadership and entrepreneurship.

The institute believes that wholesome knowledge is the distilled essence of an educational institution corroborated by experience and practical learning. This is ensured by the intense academic curriculum designed on the basis of the demands of the industry & by equipping the students with the latest technical competencies used in the corporate world. SCMHRD ensures that the professors who teach at the institute are experts in their respective fields, passionate about their subject and most importantly who have a flair for teaching. The profiles of the teachers include renowned authors of management books, consultants from the industry, highly qualified doctorates and experienced people from the public and private sector. The students are subjected to learning beyond the classroom, for instance: farmers interacting with them on economic issues, entrepreneurs, renowned writers, politicians and industrialists giving a dynamic view of the world.

All the activities from admissions to placements are student driven. The Neev committee carries out one of India’s biggest B-School fest. Every specialization also has a committee dedicated towards it, which conducts conclaves, guest lectures, competitions and award ceremonies. These are the HR Forum, Finance Club, Marketing Club and Six Sigma Committee. We have an Entrepreneurship Cell to nurture the entrepreneurial minds of SCMHRD. The Consulting Club provides students with live projects where they can implement the learning from classes. We also nurture creativity in students through Music Club and the SPAM (photography) club. The students are part of a number of social responsibility committees such as Prayatna and Shapath, which ensures that their decisions as managers in future shall be in line with the society.

At SCMHRD, 9 Centres of Excellence exist: Finance , Human Resources, Marketing, Operations, IT and Systems , Entrepreneurship Development ,Strategy Management , Infrastructure Management and Economics, Econometrics, Statistics & Research. Each centre of excellence is a leadership unit which independently decides, designs, develops and integrates all aspects of the concerned functional area. The various courses offered by the institute are: Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Human Resources, Marketing, Finance, Operations & Infrastructure Management, Executive Master of Business Administration (Exe-MBA), Post Graduate Diploma in Finance (PGDF), Business Analytics (PGDBA), Information Technology (PGDIT) , Operations Management (PGDOM), Marketing (PGDM), Human Resource Management (PGDHRM) & Certification In Entrepreneurship Development (CED).
