Budding Flavors

In keeping with the distinct identity that it has carved for itself within a short span of time, e-cell@SCMHRD had a unique case analysis-cum-guest lecture on the lines of the Harvard Business School Case study approach on the 18th of August. Rather than having the entrepreneur deliver a lecture on his/her life, this case study approach seeks to enrich the learning of students and provide the entrepreneur a few insights or perspectives about his/her business, as seen from the eyes of MBA students.

In keeping with the theme of Young entrepreneurs, the e-cell “dished” out a different format of guest lecture series. Aptly titled “Budding Flavors”, it featured prominent entrepreneurs from the Food sector: Mr. Sarath Babu, CEO Foodking Catering Pvt. Ltd. and Mr Ashwini Rathore and Vinamara Pandya, Directors Mom’s Kitchen.

 It was a unique experience for the batch and the guests as a team of students had visited their offices and “kitchens” and made a case study on their business. Hence the students were armed with the basic information even before the guests had arrived, which made the event very interactive and at an altogether different level.

The distinguished guests too added different “flavors” to the event.

Sarath Babu’s rag to riches story was extremely moving and to witness the “man” himself was a humbling experience.

Vinamra and Ashwini kept the audience in splits with their one-liners, while at the same time highlighting the struggles that they faced and the nuances of the strategies that they pursue. The icing on the cake will be when the student made case studies will be published in leading journals soon.

The event received a superb response from the batch and the tremendous feedback received has made e-cell the toast of the college and a coveted place to be in…the icing on the cake would be when the case studies undertaken by the students are published in the leading journals of the day.

Like the tagline said, “Entrepreneurship never tasted so good….”
