January 2014, along with the excitement of Pongal and Sankranti celebrations came the Uniter of all religions, leading the students of SCMHRD through the bonfires of Lohri on the 13th. From the beautiful campus design, including a Punjabi Photo Booth, to the energetic Bhangra performances by the students and finally to the lavish Punjabi buffet, created for the occasion including the Punjabi specialities.
The students entered the stage on Tractors, marking the importance of the festival as it is celebrated for the good harvest of the year and thanking God for it. All the fervour followed by 3 hours of dancing to the tunes of Punjabi numbers with the DJ was a sight in itself. Lohri is known to be celebrated not only with family, but the whole society you are a part of and that is what was proved by the students in our Symbiosis family true to the motto ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’.
