The Analytics forum of SCMHRD is a student initiative starting this year (2015) and is an integral part of the Analytics Wing of the college. It acts as an interface between the student community and the industry.

Greeting from Analytics Club

We as students of Post Graduate Program in Business Analytics (PGPBA) are pleased to invite you to the Analytics Conference “Avenir ‘16” scheduled on 27 February,2016 at Symbiosis Centre for management and Human Resource Development, Pune.

The one year full time residential PGPBA is designed for holistic knowledge on real life real time analytics. This program trains the practitioners in the substantial use of modern techniques in analytics for making informed business decisions.

Below are the details of the event:

  • Location and address of the conference: Symbiosis centre for Management and Human Resource Development (SCMHRD), Pune
  • Duration of Event: Event will be for a duration of 4-5 hours and starts at 9:00AM
  • Theme:SMAC(Social, Mobility, Analytics and Cloud)
  • Purpose of the Conference: Our goal is to bring together bright minds to talk on areas that are idea-focused, and focus on wide range of Analytics.  Expert Knowledge in the area would be of greatvalue to the audience, especially the budding Analytics Students of the country who require the guidance and path-breaking ideas to lead their way through tough completion in the Global market.
  • General Profile of Target Audience:Post Graduates in Business Analytics, MBA Graduates and Corporate Stalwarts
  • Topic of the presentation and duration of the session: You have the privilege to choose the topic of your choice and expertise which should be related to the theme. Length of the talk should be tentatively 30 mins.
  • Honorarium and expenses to be paid: All the travel, accommodation and food expenses will be taken care by us. Details regarding the same will be communicated once we receive formal acceptance from your end.

1) R.Krishna Kumar
Executive Director, Abzooba
Topic : Sentiment and Emotion Analysis based on Social Media.

R. Krishna Kumar (“KK”) has over 20 years of experience in the IT industry. Prior to Abzooba, he led technology teams at Denave India Pvt Ltd, Avita Software Pvt. Ltd., and Virtual Gold, Inc., the last 2 of which were co-founded by him. Prior to this, he worked at IBM T. J. Watson Research Center, New York, USA.

He has proven expertise in architecting large systems, and designing enterprise-wide solutions for data management, including collection, warehousing and advanced analytics, including OLAP and data mining. He has co-authored several pioneering technical papers and research reports for various publications, and two international patents. He received the B. Tech. and M. Tech. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay.

2) Kunal Jain

Topic : on which you will address the audience (based on our theme-SMAC) - Building a nation of data scientists!

  • Designation - Founder & CEO, Analytics Vidhya
  • Write-up about Yourself in 40 words (to introduce the audience) - Kunal is an Aerospace Engineer by education, a data scientist by heart and data science evangelist by profession. He founded Analytics Vidhya, world's largest and fastest growing Analytics and Data Science community in 2014. Before starting Analytics Vidhya, he had worked with the likes of Capital One and Aviva Life Insurance.

Sandeep Giri started his career in 2002 with D.E.Shaw after graduating from IIT Roorkee. At D.E.Shaw, he worked at very large scale computing. Later he founded tBIts Global. Afterward, he worked with Amazon & Inmobi on very large scale computing. In 2014 he started KnowBigData.com and Launched a platform called CloudxLab.

  • Write-up about Yourself in 40 words (to introduce the audience) - I have around 12 years of experience in the industry, primarily into Retail Banking Analytics. I have worked across multinational banks (Citi, HSBC, Capital One and Standard Chartered). In m current role I lead the analytics team working on ASEAN and South Asia region of SCB. I passed out of SCMHRD in 2004.

Vivek is an Executive Director in PwC s and has more than 20 years of consulting experience in the field of Business Intelligence (BI), Information Management (IM) and Enterprise Performance Management (EPM). Vivek is currently the BI practice strategy leader responsible for defining the product/solution strategy, go to market initiatives and incubating differentiated solutions from an industry domain perspective. Additionally, Vivek has P/L responsibilities in the Consumer and Industrial Products and Services sector which includes market development along with execution responsibilities for both domestic and international markets.
