Homecoming 07

The Alumni homecoming saw alumni from various batches come down to the SCMHRD campus to spend their weekend among old friends and relive their college memories. Alumni who had come thoroughly enjoyed their two-day stay on campus.

The ball was set rolling at the glittering inauguration ceremony, where Prof Subramanian addressed the audience. The events began with an informal Business quiz for the Alumni. There was an initial elimination round after which an alumni and a student were paired to form a team for the finals. Next on the cards was a cultural extravaganza organized by the students of SCMHRD, which comprised of a play, and classical as well as filmy dances. Here the alumni also shared stories, anecdotes and mischief moments from their past at SCMHRD with the current batch, which made us all realize that as much as SCMHRD has changed, some things always remain the same. The icing on the cake was the rock show by “90% on the Rocks” our own in-house rock band. The evening of Day 1 had a fairy tale ending with a dinner hosted in a resort in the outskirts of Pune.

Day 2 began with “Alu-Money”, a strategy game on the lines of monopoly, where the alumni matched wits against each other. This was followed by lunch where the Alumni shared their highs and lows in SCMHRD with the current batch.

A surprise element was the special appearance by Ajay Devgan and Vidya Balan, who were shooting a part of their film on the SIC campus. They also joined us for a late lunch, which caused a lot of excitement among the crowds.

The event ended after lunch where we bade farewell to the Alumni who agreed in unison that this event had been a welcome break from their regular routine and left them looking forward to more such “Homecomings”.
