Alumni connect drives : Connecting with alumni during various drives and taking their feedback to grow further.

Guest Lectures : Inviting industry experts to share knowledge with students.

Alumni Meets : Hosting meets in various cities to develop strong bond with them.

Homecoming - Alumni from different batches come back to college for two days to relive those moments and memories.

PROLOGUE: The Alumni Relations Team had its inception in the year 2015, with our esteemed faculty Dr. Manish Sinha as the faculty Incharge. We believe in having a strong foundation for this team with the onus of representing the strong alumni network of 3000+ strength. We have carried the following Alumni Initiatives in this academic year. We have several new initiatives in the pipeline for the next academic year.

INTERVIEW AND SELECTION PROCESS:

The formation of the club happened through a combined selection process with the Corporate Relations Team and the process by itself is known for the arduous and strenuous testing the students are put through before getting a chance to be a part of the team.

The process is designed well in advance and documented in consulting with HR faculties and keeping in mind the core competencies that would be needed to surge ahead and take the committee one step forward. The details are so deep to such an extent that on the basis of each answer a candidate gives for every single question, he is judged upon a competency/ skill.

The selection process involved six tedious rounds which included a tete-a-tete, presentation, group discussion, the unique ‘Beautiful Mind’ and finally a stress round at the end of it six members were selected to be the part of the Alumni Relations Team.

The process for next year is designed towards the end of the academic year and in the future course is bound to include alumni themselves having a say in the team formation through a round where they will taking the interview of the candidates.

ALUMNI DATABASE COLLECTION AND UPDATION:

The first and preliminary task of the Alumni Relations Team is the updating and Collecting details of alumni across all the batches as it is very significant to ensure that the team reaches out to all the alumni across the globe and make sure that they are invited to be involved in all the initiatives designed for them.

The work was carried out manually last year where all the Alumni across all batches were called or reached out through various ways including LinkedIn, Facebook, e-mails, Whatsapp groups and it was made sure that all their contacts were updated and new contacts were added. This included the alumni overseas as well. Moving ahead, automated database software has been designed for the same purpose by the Alumni Team this year to fasten up the work and make the job user friendly and time saving.

ALUMNI CONNECT DRIVE

In order to strengthen the personal connect with the alumni and to make it more than it just being a phone call, a connect drive was initiated by the alumni team, where the members of the team would physically visit our alumni in their places . To start with, five cities where density of alumni is high were chosen, i.e., Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Delhi NCR and Pune. The time period of the connect drive was fixed at one week and on each day the team managed to connect with 5 to 10 of our important alumni in each city in their office premises and managed to establish a personal connect with them over a cup of coffee reminiscing unforgettable moments during their college days and making them feel their importance the college.  The alumni connect drive also gave the team an opportunity to get the feedback of our alumni and acted as a seed upon which we could plan the new initiatives  and strengthen the connect. The initiative ended as a great success where we managed to connect with 137 of our alumni and get them on-board to take active part in the proceedings of the college.

ALUMNI MEETS:

The team organized Alumni Meets across four cities starting from Delhi and Mumbai during the month of August, then Bangalore during the month of November and then finally at Hyderabad in February. The meets saw enthusiastic participation of alumni across all the four cities. In all the meets, the live tweeting on details of each alumnus was done as and when an alumnus had come to facilitate more familiarity among the alumni fraternity thus strengthening the bonds across batches.

The team, in line with the ongoing trend of entrepreneurial environment, had started a small initiative called “Road Not Taken” where the entrepreneurial fraternity of our alumni were invited to share their entrepreneurial journey and inspire other such aspirants. Besides, there were lot of activities in all the alumni meets involving the alumni where the dais was thrown open to them for them to exhibit the Neev’er, singer or the dancer still alive in them. There was also a walk down the memory lane session where each alumnus recalled the nostalgic moments they have had during their college days. The platform was also used to reprise alumni of the recent happenings in the college. The team managed to get valuable suggestions and promises where alumni were more than happy to involve themselves in strengthening the bond and the brand of the college. HOMECOMING

Homecoming, the much awaited event among the alumni fraternity signifies the emotional return of the alumni, who had passed out of the institute before years in multiple of decades, to their alma mater. This gives an opportunity for them to relive those unforgettable days of their life, walking along the same corridors and down the memory lane. This time it was the turn of the batch of 1995 and 2005 to refill those leftover pages of joy. This time it was all more special as this is the first time the homecoming was for two different batches spread across two days while earlier it was one day. The fact that 1995 batch happens to be the first batch of the college made it even more special. The event was highlighted with cricket matches, camp fires, music, dance, joy and amidst that a very valuable session where around 50 alumni interacted with students at a single go answering all their queries. On the whole, the alumni team was successful in creating a positive vibe and buzz about the event and succeeded in keeping up with the hype surrounding the event which could be gauged through the heavy hearts with alumni had to head back to their places.
