In the fast-paced world of financial derivatives and securities markets, it has become
essential to develop adequate quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, apart from
domain knowledge expertise. With inter-linkages of global markets across different asset
classes, a multi-dimensional approach is required to understand the dynamics of volatile
markets in a better perspective. For trader, dealer, treasury manager, or investor, the
understanding of the mechanics of commodity derivatives markets in its entirety and in
relationship with equity, currency, and debt markets has become important.

Commodity Exchange), proudly announce the launch of a comprehensive 9-month (3
levels of 3 months each) part-time (weekends and evenings on weekdays) course,
Certified Analyst in Global Commodity Markets and Derivatives.
The course leads
to specialization in a specific commodity from the following list:
-Bullion (Gold, Silver)
- Base Metals (Copper, Aluminium, Nickel, Zinc, Tin, Lead)
- Energy (Crude Oil, Natural Gas)
- Agricultural Commodities (Major Agri-Commodities)
- Emissions Trading (Carbon Financial Instruments)
- Electricity Trading
Objective
- Develop quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
- Develop domain knowledge expertise in commodity derivatives markets.
- Understand the inter-linkages of commodity markets with other asset classes such
as equity, currency, and debt markets.
- Understand the mechanics of global commodity markets, with special emphasis on
fundamental and technical analyses.
- Understand the application of theoretical concepts in risk management, with live
case studies and examples.
- Learn to use trading software, with simulated trading exercises (mock trading).

Curriculum
The course has been designed for a period of 9 calendar months (36 calendar weeks) and is based on three levels. Each level will be for 12 calendar weeks (10 weeks for lectures and 2 weeks for exams). There will be 15 faculty lecture hours each week. Apart from the number of faculty lecture hours, students are expected to do self-study assignments and projects for every subject. Specialization in a specific commodity will be provided after passing the commodity specific final examination. Specialization is optional in nature and would entail passing the commodity-specific examination. Specializations are available in the following commodities:
